Taking a deeper look at art
Have you ever looked at a work of art and wondered “what the heck does that even mean?” Well, I have been an artist for most of my life and it happens to me all the time. What I realize in those moments, is that either the artist wants you to look deep inside yourself and find the meaning within or they have a specific meaning they want you to figure out, or they were on a crazy drug trip and have no idea themselves! Okay, those may not be the only options, but sometimes it feels that way when I see all the different art in our world today! When I began my career as an artist, I didn’t worry too much about meaning. My work was pretty straight forward. I painted images of coffee cups and safari animals for people to decorate their homes with.
Now that I’m more in touch with my “artistic voice”, having people seek the meanings of my work is one of the things that I find exciting when creating it! Unfortunately, what I have discovered, is that most people just want a pretty picture to look at and they really don’t want to think about what it means. In my work, part of the depth of the work is in the titles, but surprisingly, not many people who see my work even read the title which means they’re missing half the fun! Instead of leaving the guesswork up to the viewers, I’ve decided to write a blog completely dedicated to revealing the other layers of my art, and hopefully, others will join in the fun and share their work and the meaning behind it!
I’m hoping this will be a great way to take a look beyond the images and get to know the people and the thinking of those who have created it! I’ll be sharing my first image and the meaning soon! Thank you for taking the time to read what this page is all about and I look forward to your feedback and to seeing your art!

Great idea!
Thank you! Would love to see your work on here!
I love finding out what artists were thinking when they paint . Art is so personal and I also like how it can make you feel in your own way . Tara, your art has really morphed into more of your personality in every piece, you never cease to amaze me. It can not be easy trying to find your inner self either. I think I have yet to do that. ????
Me too! I think it’s a life long process and it changes! Thank you for your insight and comment!
